Where In The World: October - December

Updated: 2 days ago

Hey all! Welcome back for another update on what I've been doing the last few months.

So the main news; I've started a new job! After weeks of applying for various positions, I was finally accepted at Pantiles Cameras in Sevenoaks. Here's their website if you want to find out more; https://www.pantilescameras.co.uk/

As a Sales Assistant, I help customers find the cameras, lens and accessories that they are looking for as well as assist with cleaning and photographing 2nd-hand lens. We also take a huge variety of passport photographs, with the help of a very useful biometric system.

So far I am really enjoying it, and have learnt so much; from binoculars, to telescopes and film photography as well.

Starting work and being busy most weekends at the moment, has meant that I haven't been out photographing as much as I had been before. However, I've still found time to explore Sheffield Park and to go back to the British Wildlife Center (a favourite place of mine).

The Red Squirrels were out in force, climbing the tree and beginning to chase each other everywhere.

There were also Otter kits! The two on the left were the kits with their mum. They were adorable and playing around together both in the water and on land. When feeding time came, the kits were tired out and the mum took almost all the food back to one of their holts (their home) immediately.

As well as beginning work, I was also asked to help organise the Tunbridge Wells Baptist Church Christmas Craft Fair. I really enjoyed working on the Craft Fair and I met a lot of lovely people. I also sold some of my own work at the Craft Fair.

Please email me if you would like to purchase any of these framed prints. The larger prints are part of my Walk With Me series, and were exhibited in Falmouth's Graduate Show as well as 'All Things Considered' exhibition in Bristol.

The count down to Christmas was exciting. During one weekend, my family and I visited the Blenheim Palace Christmas Lights. We were amazed at the variety and sheer scale of the lights that were displayed. Luckily it wasn't too cold and had stopped raining earlier that day so we could really enjoy the Lights. Here is just a snapshot of some of the lights that we saw;

As Christmas drew nearer, the days grew colder and the winter more bitter, yet the sun still shone brightly on occasion.

So as we go into the new year, I encourage you to appreciate the small things in nature; those wonderful days where the sun shines, the birds are singing and it isn't raining.
